Being well-versed in architectural styles as well as furnishings and decorative arts fosters a harmony and relevance between the interiors and the building architecture of our projects, creating a union with it's overall sense of time and place.

Kim McOwan, Principal Designer

Maintaining a firm belief that inspired design elevates the way people can feel within their environments , Kim McOwan, Principal of charette interior design, ltd., approaches each project with that premise in mind. We listen carefully as we're collaborating with our clients, thereby creating spaces that truly resonate with their lifestyles. With a Certificate in Interior and Environmental Design from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Kim intertwines the two areas of expertise to form the foundation of our design process.

Her career started under the guidance and mentorship of AD 100 designers, Rose Tarlow and Sally Sirkin Lewis, at their respective Los Angeles showrooms. After achieving her design certificate from UCLA, Kim continued to develop as a designer while working for a number of high profile firms such as SFA Design, Walt Disney Imagineering, Ellerbe Becket Architecture and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Combining the mastery achieved through her design accomplishments with her initial studies in the field of Psychology, she has fostered a creative approach to envisioning and implementing personalized environments for our clients.
